Throw Conventional Out The Window

By Dr. Jesse Ritter

If you're wanting incredible things for your life, you're going to have to start doing something that's out of the ordinary for you.

We've all heard the term "conventional wisdom" before. Generally, it has a positive vibe to it. It's "tried and true", "battle-tested", etc. To a great extent, I agree that there are behaviors that have been passed down over many generations that are highly virtuous and productive.

However, let's examine the definition of conventional:

con·ven·tion·al - "based on or in accordance with what is generally done or believed"

Action taken in this way is incredibly effective and useful in a World that isn't changing. It allows us to apply principles that have been worked out by our ancestors during a different time. If very little has changed, then applying those "battle-tested" and "proven successful" actions will take you to the promised land in your career, your health and your relationships.

However, is our World one of stagnation? Take a look at that supercomputer in your pocket we nostalgically call a "phone". Just 30 years ago the idea of having a workable portable phone was barely taking shape. Now, you can manage your entire world on that "phone" in your pocket.

Technology is changing at a rapid pace. Exponential changes are coming at us everywhere.

Will your conventional approaches to making decisions, communicating with loved ones, operating your business, investment strategies and health habits allow you to excel and create the life you truly want???

Before July 20, 1969 it was generally believed that it was impossible for humans to land on the moon.

In 1999 it was generally believed that computers all around the world may stop working when their clocks turned over to "00" from "99".

In 2009 it was generally believed that Bitcoin was silly internet money for nerds to "mine" on their computers that had little value.

If we all stayed locked on our conventional beliefs and actions, how ineffective and inaccurate we can be? How much opportunity we can miss?

Dental technology and what's possible for your dental health is no different.

Conventional dental care is reactive. "If something hurts, we fix it. If something breaks, let's fix that. If something is infected we'll address it."

NO GOALS IDENTIFIED - PROBLEM COMES UP - PROBLEM "FIXED" - NO GOALS REACHED + PROBLEMS CONTINUE

While that approach is "done in accordance with what is generally accepted", is it really helping people reach their dental health and confidence goals?

The answer is a resounding "no".

Unconventional thinking takes a more Optimal proactive approach. It starts with life goals, career goals, relationship goals and health goals and works backwards from there. Once we understand your goals, now we can create a customized plan for you to reach them.

I believe the majority of people's relationship to dental care can be one of:

GOALS IDENTIFIED - PLAN CREATION TO REACH GOALS - EXECUTION - GOALS REACHED - MAINTENANCE ONLY

This approach helps patients reach their goals now and in the future and allows the maximum time to enjoy the peace of mind, health and happiness that comes with them.

SO, the moral of the story is this: IF you want something outstanding for your life or your dental health, if you'd rather THRIVE than SURVIVE, throw conventional out the window.
