It feels like it's been eons since I wrote my last newsletter. I fell off the proverbial writer's wagon.
Well, I'm back.
I made a promise to my lovely 95 year old patient yesterday, Ann, who reminds me every time she sees me to send another newsletter out. Thank you Ann for the accountability. :)
It's that time of year where farmers reap what they've sowed in the Spring. The corn's upward waving hands transition to limp noodles signifying it's time to fire up the combine.
What seeds have you planted this year for yourself, your family, your career, your business, your church or your community?
For myself personally, I'm always wishing I'd planted more seeds early in the year. This year, at the very least, I have planted a seed of health for myself by pursuing a new way of eating healthy.
Back in June I completed my 10 Day Detox Diet. Dr. Mark Hyman authored the book and pioneered the program.
It's relatively simple. It's 10 Days of:
1) No grains or gluten
2) No caffeine
3) No alcohol
4) Supplementation
5) Meals laid out for you
6) Detox baths every night
7) Journaling about your experience
My results:
1) I lost 12 lbs (158 lbs to 146 lbs)
2) I lost 1.5% of body fat
3) My energy levels increased
4) I had less joint pain (knees from sports and neck from leaning over great patients like yourself)
5) I felt much less stressed
Since I've completed the program I've managed to maintain 80-90% of the gains in all departments. It's been a game changer.
This is ONE of the positive seeds I've planted for myself and, by extension, every person I impact.
Now is the time of year when we've got to finish strong. Harvest the seeds you've planted and realize your bounty. Be grateful for the positive planting you've done and the rewards you can now harvest. Reflect on the opportunities you've missed to uplevel in some way.
The reality is that you can plant seeds for your life ANY TIME. YOU DECIDE THE SEASONS.
It's never too late. Get started!

Dr. Ben and I Head To Denver
A few weeks ago Dr. Ben and I traveled to Denver to attend an in person event hosted by Dr. David Bennett, a great mentor and friend of mine.
We had an incredible time!
Not only did we further our education on TMJ diagnosis and treatment, complex restorative procedures and digital dentistry workflows, we got the opportunity to catch up with Dr. Bennett. His energy is infectious and he is a true inspiration to be around.
Dr. Ben and I also got to travel together for the first time and have some deep and meaningful conversations together.
It was an awesome trip!
